Governor DeSantis signs higher education bill and it does not go unnoticed

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a sweeping higher education bill at the New College campus in Florida. The most important development is DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives are no longer permitted at any Florida public institution of higher learning.

As expected, not everyone was happy with DeSantis signing this ground-breaking legislation and protestors tried to shout the event down.

DeSantis couldn’t help but make a joke at the protestors’ expense.

Not one to ever be deterred, New College board member, Chris Rufo, forged ahead with his speech while protestors screamed from outside the room.

Today, was a huge win for the hard-working taxpayers of Florida and the students who choose to attain degrees in Florida institutions. Taxpayer dollars will be well spent and in turn those savings can be passed onto students.

The largest incoming class ever and new faculty clamoring to work at New College? This sounds like a huge win for the good folks of Florida. In recent years, attendance at New College had fallen while other Florida Universities had huge wait lists.

So true! Florida is a great start, but the goal must be ridding all K-12 schools and institutions of higher learning of these divisive teachings.
